Job summary

Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage seeks a Central Sterile Processing Manager to lead the Sterile Processing Department, maintaining aseptic standards and ensuring the right instruments reach the OR on time.

You will coach and mentor staff, coordinate with OR leadership and other departments, and uphold regulatory compliance and corporate standards while delivering outstanding patient care.

Qualifications

  • Must obtain CSPDT or CRCST within 2 years of employment start date.
  • Two years of experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Sterile Processing Department operations and maintain aseptic and sterile parameters for instruments.
  • Coordinate with OR, Emergency Department, and Surgical Services to ensure timely instrument availability.
  • Collaborate with OR Director on staffing, hiring, evaluating, guiding, and scheduling staff.
  • Maintain professional composure under pressure and communicate a shared department vision.
  • Identify staff strengths and development needs and provide training.

Central Sterile Processing Manager

Job Summary And Qualifications

As the Sterile Processing Department Manager, you will provide quality services while maintaining strict aseptic and sterile parameters in product processing. The SPD Manager also provides the Operating Room with the right product at the right time and in the quantities needed utilizing national agreements and contracts to the maximum extent possible. We are looking for someone who has a passion for providing excellent patient care and also has the ability to lead, coach, and mentor.

In this Manager role:

  • You will follow established Policies and Procedures for maintaining instrumentation inventory at proper level to ensure that using surgical services and facility departments have adequate support.
  • You will work with charge RNs, managers, supervisors, and staff to coordinate the various functions of the Sterile Processing Department with all patient care units, the Emergency Room, X ray, Cardiac Cath Lab, Day Surgery, Labor and Delivery, Endoscopy and the main Operating Room
  • You will work with OR Director on department staffing, hiring, evaluating, guiding, disciplining, and scheduling of staff.
  • You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure
  • You will develop and communicate a shared vision for the department consistent with the hospitals vision.
  • You will be skilled at identifying the strengths and weaknesses of staff performance and work with them on training and development accordingly.
  • You will be responsible for employee, patient and physician satisfaction as well as regulatory compliance and corporate standards.
What qualifications you will need:
  • (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician, or (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
  • 2 years experience Required Years of Experience
