Job summary

HCA HealthONE Rose is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician II to join our Central Sterile department in the Denver area. You will coordinate cleaning, assembly and dispensing of instruments for daily surgical procedures and support timely instrument availability for the OR.

The role requires a current Central Service Technician certification (IAHCSMM or CBSPD), high school diploma, and at least 1 year of multi-specialty instrumentation experience.

Qualifications

• Current Central Service Technician certification with IAHCSMM or CBSPD required.
• Education: High school or GED required.
• 1 year experience with multi-specialty OR instrumentation preferred.
• Ability to read, understand medical terminology and follow tray cards.
• Ability to operate sterilization equipment and respond to instrument requests.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cleaning, assembly and dispensing of instruments for daily surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure availability and proper sterilization of instruments.
• Maintain knowledge of sterilization principles and safety guidelines.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Position Summary: The Central Sterile Technician II coordinates and collaborates in the overall cleaning, assembly, and dispensing of instruments and equipment needed for daily surgical procedures. Performs all duties of SPD Tech I.

II. Position Requirements:

• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Central Service Technician certification with IAHCSMM or CBSPD required.
• Education: High school or GED required
• Experience:
• 1 year experience with multi-specialty OR Instrumentation preferred
• Ability to read, comprehend and write English, including an understanding of medical terminology.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to operate washer sterilizer, ultrasonic washer, heat sealer, nitrogen tank, air hose, Sterris, Sterad, and steam autoclave equipment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, as well as ability to develop and accurately follow tray cards.
• Ability to promptly and accurately respond to requests for surgical instruments and supplies.
• Advanced knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Proven skills in critical thinking and active problem solving relative to Central Supply standards.
• Advanced working knowledge of sterilization principles, including AORN, AMMI & OSHA guidelines.
• Actively collaborates with essential personnel to ensure that instruments and supplies are
• Properly sterilized, in acceptable working condition, and appropriately stored.
• Ability to stand or walk constantly and lift heavy instrument trays.
• Excellent organizational and manual dexterity skills.
• The Lead Instrument Technician must function as a key resource to the nursing staff regarding the availability of instruments and relative to the age specific needs of patients
