Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking a Central Sterile Manager to lead day-to-day operations, ensure regulatory readiness, and drive quality improvements in sterile processing. This role requires strong leadership in a high-volume hospital setting and hands-on experience with instrumentation and sterile technique.

Ideal candidates hold a CSS Certification or RN/LPN license, with 4+ years of management experience and a background in sterile supply.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of management experience in a hospital setting.
• Basic computer word processing skills.
• 5 years CSS Management and Operating Room Supply Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence to practice within Central Sterile’s Scope of Care.
• Manages day to day operations of assigned unit ensuring decisions, actions and group performance contributes to achievement of the unit, department, and hospital’s goals and mission.
• Communicates effectively with staff, peers, Surgical Director, external and internal customer.
• Utilizes quality improvement as basis to improve unit/departmental process.
• Pursues own professional growth and development.
• Maintains unit readiness for regulatory surveys.
• Assumes accountability for decisions and actions.
• Provides opportunities for employee development.
