Job summary

Harborview Medical Center is seeking a Central Processing Manager (Manager of Sterile Processing) to lead the Central Processing Unit, ensuring efficient sterilization and instrument handling across the hospital.

The role requires oversight of decontamination, sterile processing, policy development, and regulatory compliance while driving cost-effective operations and collaboration with perioperative services.

Qualifications

• Accredited Surgical Technologist or Materials Management program graduate with 5 years' experience.
• Two years in a hospital management position in Materials Management.
• Demonstrated management and leadership skills related to the tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assure department operations meet regulatory standards (state DOH, Joint Commission, etc.).
• Design, implement and evaluate systems to support patient care; promote cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Mentor, coach, and develop Central Sterile Technicians.
• Respond promptly to department needs.
• Monitor staffing, workload, instrument usage, and loss prevention.
• Hire, supervise, counsel, discipline and terminate staff in collaboration with Operative Services Director; help write policies.
