Job summary

University Hospital’s Sterile Processing Department seeks an experienced administrator to oversee operations, budgeting, and compliance. The role focuses on sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and distribution of patient care equipment and surgical instruments.

You will lead inventory control, coordinate with other departments, and ensure readiness for Joint Commission surveys while delivering top-tier service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in an acute sterile processing department.
• Minimum of three years of experience in preparing for Joint Commission, local, state and/or federal surveys/audits.
• Three years of progressive management experience is preferred.
• Current Sterile Processing Technician certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general administration and fiscal oversight of the Sterile Processing Department.
• Manage processes for decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution.
• Maintain surgical instrument inventory and supplies.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure instrument availability and safety.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and other surveys.
