Job summary

UT MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a skilled Stationary Engineer to operate and optimize central utility systems essential to patient care and research. The role focuses on monitoring BAS, maintaining boilers, chillers, and pumps, and ensuring energy efficiency across campus facilities.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with utility systems in healthcare or large institutions, and relevant licenses or certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Four years of experience with boiler systems, chillers, or water treatment in a large central plant.
  • Experience with healthcare, research, or large institutional environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate central utility systems including chilled water, steam, compressed air, vacuum, and hot water systems.
  • Monitor and optimize utility usage for energy efficiency.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, pumps, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform corrective repairs; respond to alarms.
  • Document system performance and maintain records; coordinate with vendors and contractors.
