Job summary

University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a skilled Stationary Engineer to support critical central utility systems essential to patient care and research. The role requires expertise to monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain complex infrastructure across the Bastrop campus and related facilities.

Ideal candidates bring strong knowledge of boiler systems, chiller plants, water treatment, and BAS operation.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience with boiler systems, chillers, and water treatment in a large central plant.
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and process water chemistry.
• Professional licenses in stationary engineering preferred.
• Experience in healthcare, research, or large institutional environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate central utility systems (chilled water, steam, compressed air, vacuum, HW).
• Monitor BAS and optimize energy use for efficiency and reliability.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, chillers, pumps.
• Troubleshoot system malfunctions and coordinate repairs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors; manage inventory and materials.
