Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee seeks a Central Plant Operator II to monitor, operate, and maintain high-pressure boilers and large chillers at the campus Central Heating and Cooling plant. You will inspect equipment at satellite facilities, decide on dispatch and operating parameters, and follow plant policies to ensure safe, continuous utility production.

The role requires experience with high-pressure boilers, ability to work overtime and on various shifts, and adherence to PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• One year or more of experience operating and maintaining high pressure boilers and related equipment.
• Ability and willingness to wear PPE per policies.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the central plant and satellite facilities for continuous utility production.
• Analyze alarms and anomalies; follow procedures to resolve issues.
• Maintain logs, communicate status to shifts, and coordinate with Central Plant Leadership.
