Job summary

The University Of Chicago is seeking an Assistant Operator for its Central Utility Plant to effectively operate, maintain, and monitor the boilers and chillers. You will ensure proper functioning of the plant systems and equipment in compliance with University standards.

Ideal candidates will have two years of chiller plant operation experience, a high school diploma, and mechanical aptitude. Safety and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to operate necessary computer programs.

Qualifications

• 2 years chiller plant operation experience preferred.
• City of Chicago Stationary Engineer’s License required within two years.
• Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification required within two years.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains boilers and chiller systems.
• Observes pressure and temperature meters.
• Troubleshoots equipment associated with boilers and chillers.
