Job summary

Scoot Education is seeking a Substitute Teacher in Rochester, NY to supervise students and support a safe, inclusive learning environment across classrooms, playgrounds, and cafeterias. You will follow teacher plans, communicate with staff, and provide notes for the returning teacher.

We offer W-2 employment, weekly paychecks, paid training, and opportunities for professional development, with competitive compensation and state and federal background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students in the classroom, playground, or cafeteria.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Encourage student engagement and participation throughout the day.
• Manage classroom routines, behavior, and transitions, following any lesson plans left by the teacher.
• Communicate clearly with school staff.
• Leave brief notes or feedback for the returning teacher.

Daily Pay Range:

Pay will vary forday-to-day assignments and is typicallymore for long-term placements.Pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.

Role Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree, associate's degree or college credits

• Have a teaching credential/certificate or 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit
• Have previous experience in special education settings
• Are bilingual and/or have bilingual teaching experience
