Job summary

Join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant at Central Fill Pharmacy in Yakima, WA! Pharmacy Assistants play a vital role in supporting patient access to medications and pharmacy services at YVFWC. This role provides essential clerical, customer service, and medication support functions to help ensure patients receive accurate, timely, and safe pharmacy services. This position helps ensure smooth pharmacy operations and a positive patient experience.

Position Highlights
  • 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
  • $18.47-$22.62 per hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates

What You’ll Do
  • Package prescriptions for delivery to pharmacies, verifying correct medication, paperwork, and patient counseling instructions are provided
  • Maintain awareness of stock levels and enter orders for restocking based on defined minimum inventory levels. Verify quantity and submit orders to the wholesaler
  • Verify product orders received against invoices and purchase orders. Place a sticker on each item and shelve it
  • Monitor and check expiration dates on drugs in stock
  • Return or discard dispensed prescriptions to stock if they are returned by a pharmacy
  • Answer the phone, address non‑professional level inquiries, and transfer calls to appropriate staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient care, or customer service experience
  • Pharmacy Assistant state registration required within 60 days of hire (or active Pharmacy Intern License)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy workflows
  • Experience using pharmacy software systems
