What You’ll Do
  • Enter patient data in the system, including name, insurance, allergies, provider, and diagnosis
  • Enter the prescription into the system, selecting brand, product, drug, and appropriate strength per provider instructions
  • Fill or dispense products from pharmacy stock and deliver to patients
  • Process prescription refills, verifying refill availability
  • Maintain awareness of stock levels and place orders for restocking at defined minimum inventory levels; verify quantity and submit orders to the wholesaler
  • Verify product orders received against invoice and purchase order; place a sticker on each item and shelve
  • Monitor expiration dates on drugs in stock and prepare expired stock for return to the wholesaler; process credit invoices for returns
  • Return or discard dispensed prescriptions not picked up within 30 days; enter information in the system for reverse billing
  • Complete third‑party billing forms and contact the provider if prior authorization is required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform clinical responsibilities in alignment with The Joint Commission, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year’s experience in a pharmacy setting preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician license for Washington State or Pharmacy Intern license
  • Eligible for bilingual differential compensation when ALTA score of 9 is achieved
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred at level 9
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills with a customer‑oriented approach
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, faxing, scanning, and copying
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for multitasking
  • Basic proficiency with a variety of computer systems, including Microsoft Office, preferred
  • Basic knowledge of at least one pharmacy software system and ability to learn new systems
  • Pre‑employment drug screen required after conditional offer of employment
