Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a dedicated store department supervisor in Mishawaka, IN. This role leads daily department operations, trains staff, and ensures adherence to standards and KPIs.

You will oversee inventory, validate orders, and coordinate stocking, production, and rotation to protect quality and freshness. Responsibilities include managing schedules, labor and payroll costs, and driving department forecasts and goals.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED).
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Depending on company location, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day activities of department operations in a retail store, ensuring staff are trained and the department meets company standards and KPIs.
• Order and maintain inventory, review received orders for amount, quality, and weight, and ensure proper storage.
• Manage a team that completes stocking, production, and tasks to ensure quality, forecasting, and rotation; handle spoiled/damaged items per guidelines.
• Maintain familiarity with products in the department and across the store; ensure ads, prices, and rewards programs are applied.
• Develop and monitor department forecasts and goals; participate in daily huddles and meetings; ensure schedules align with forecasted guidelines.
• Ensure food safety and safety guidelines are followed; take corrective action as needed.
