Job summary

SpartanNash Kalkaska is seeking a department operations leader for a retail store. You will oversee daily activities, ensure staffing, training, and adherence to company standards and KPIs.

You'll manage inventory, scheduling, payroll expenses, and program execution while maintaining product quality and customer service excellence. Strong leadership and communication are essential to drive department goals within our Total Rewards benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations and retail management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Spanish language ability is highly desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in the store.
• Order and maintain inventory, ensuring product freshness and quality.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight.
• Manage a team for stocking, production, and duties to meet KPIs.
• Maintain familiarity with all products and store-wide features.
• Attend daily huddles and participate in meetings as required.
• Implement and monitor schedules, labor and payroll expenses.
• Ensure food safety and safety guidelines are followed.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
