Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must be accredited as a Certified Food Safety Manager or will be required to obtain accreditation within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provide ongoing performance management and appraisals.
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity targets.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture reflecting Food Lion Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy.
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service and a positive shopping experience.
