Job summary

Food Lion in Burlington, NC seeks an experienced Grocery Department Manager to lead department staff, maintain product quality and drive store results. You will hire, train and coach associates, manage scheduling and labor, control expenses, and ensure safety and sanitation standards while delivering friendly, fast service to customers.

You will partner with store leadership to achieve budgets and growth, uphold Food Lion values, and promote a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet physical requirements of the position; accreditation in Food Safety preferred or required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise performance and conduct appraisals for direct reports.
• Plan and monitor labor to meet productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership to promote our Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Ensure excellent customer service and a positive shopping experience.
