Job summary

The Fresh Market in Norfolk is seeking a Center Store Department Lead to assist the Center Store Department Manager and lead the team with care, ensuring every guest feels welcome and every department looks its best. You will coach staff to grow while stepping in as acting manager when needed.

The role requires monitoring labor, managing inventory, implementing merchandising plans, and collaborating with department leaders to drive store success with a focus on hospitality and performance

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership in a retail, hospitality, or food-service environment.
• Ability to motivate and develop teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with conflict resolution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels, minimize shrink, and support ordering processes.
• Act as a resource for team members and provide guidance in the manager’s absence.
• Model and coach exceptional hospitality by engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Help implement merchandising strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales and profitability.
• Assist in analyzing department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with other department leaders to drive store success.
• Utilize available technology to perform tasks efficiently.
