Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Center Store Department Lead to support the Department Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining a well-presented center store. You will lead by example, coach the team, and step in as acting manager when needed, ensuring daily operations run smoothly.

You will monitor schedules, manage inventory and promotions, and collaborate with department leaders to optimize sales and profitability while using available technology to perform tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, or hospitality.
• Strong leadership to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Proven ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience while meeting performance goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels, minimize shrink, and support ordering.
• Act as a resource for team members and guide in the manager’s absence.
• Model hospitality and engage guests to create positive experiences.
• Assist in merchandising strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales.
• Analyze department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with other department leaders to drive store success.
• Leverage technology to perform tasks.
