Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Center Store Department Lead to support the Center Store Department Manager. You will lead with care, coach teammates, and ensure the department presents its best to guests while maintaining smooth operations.

You’ll monitor schedules, assist with inventory, and help drive merchandising initiatives. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to exceptional guest experiences in a dynamic grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, or related field.
• Strong leadership and ability to develop high-performing teams.
• Proven ability to deliver exceptional guest experience while meeting performance goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and support ordering to minimize shrink.
• Be a resource for team members in the manager’s absence.
• Coach staff to deliver impeccable hospitality and positive guest experiences.
• Help implement merchandising strategies and promotions to drive sales.
• Analyze department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with other department leaders to drive store success.
• Leverage available technology to perform tasks.
