Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Center Store Department Lead to support the Center Store Department Manager in delivering an exceptional guest experience. You will lead with care, coach a team, and ensure the department looks its best while stepping in as acting manager when needed.

You will monitor labor, manage inventory, analyze metrics, and collaborate with other department leaders to drive store success. This role emphasizes hospitality, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, hospitality, or related fields.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Proven ability to deliver guest experience while achieving goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Help monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels, minimize shrink, and support ordering processes.
• Act as a resource for team members and provide guidance in the manager’s absence.
• Model and coach hospitality by engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Help implement merchandising strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales.
• Assist in analyzing department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with department leaders to drive store success.
• Leverage available technology to perform these tasks.
