Job summary

Northern Illinois Food Bank seeks a Center Manager for the North Suburban Center in Lake Forest, IL to oversee warehouse, production, and distribution operations with a focus on safety and volunteer engagement.

You will build strong agency and donor partnerships, manage budgets, ensure food safety compliance, and lead community outreach to raise awareness of hunger issues. Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of management required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in social services, business or related area.
• Proven leadership and people management abilities.
• Proficient with standard office software and data management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee center warehouse, production, and transportation operations, ensuring readiness for events.
• Operate and supervise use of industrial lift equipment safely.
• Maintain regular facility cleaning and maintenance.
• Guide center drivers and coordinate with Transportation Team Leadership.
• Engage with volunteer teams to build a capable volunteer base aligned with production needs.
• Maintain relationships with agencies in the service area and support program coordination.
