Job summary

Family Guidance Center in Columbiana, AL is seeking a Center Manager to serve as the educational lead for one or more Head Start centers, guiding school readiness by implementing our early learning system, policies, and tools.

You will supervise center staff, support teachers in CLASS- and curriculum-based practices, help with child assessment, family engagement, and professional growth, and ensure data-driven planning and fidelity across classrooms.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 2+ years of managerial experience, or a bachelor's in a child-related or business field.
• Experience teaching in early childhood and supervising or coaching.
• Experience managing infant/toddler or preschool programs.
• Experience collaborating with community partners.
• Experience in fiscal management and budget prep.
• Serv Safe Certification required.
• Physical exam and background checks required.
• Travel locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for meetings.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

The Center Manager serves as the educational lead for one or more centers in the Head Start program, with responsibilities including the following:

• Ensure full implementation of all aspects of Family Guidance Center Early learning system, policies/procedures, and tools, with the goal of supporting all children to achieve School Readiness Goals.
• Supervise center staff (teachers, assistant teachers, program aides, and cooks)
• Provide assistance to teaching staff to successfully fulfill all aspects of their role, including but not limited to effective practices in the following:
  • CLASS™ Teacher-Child Interactions
  • Learning Environments
  • Curriculum
  • Child Assessment
  • Meeting All Children's Needs
  • Working with Families
  • Professional Growth and Collaboration
  • Work with teachers to implement program curriculum with fidelity.
  • Work with teachers to implement child assessment systems reliably, including understanding child outcomes data and using them to plan and individualize.

QualificationsRequirements:

• Associate degree with at least 2 years of managerial experience OR a bachelor's degree in any field related to children or business (per Licensing requirements). Bachelor's degree in early education preferred.
• Previous experience teaching in an early childhood setting; experience with supervision, management or coaching preferred.
• Experience managing an infant/toddler or preschool program.
• Experience with collaborations and community partnerships (if applicable)
• Experience in Fiscal management/budget preparations (if applicable)
• Obtain Serv Safe Certification.
• Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
