Job summary

HILL COUNTRY COMMUNITY ACTION ASSOCIATION, INC. seeks a Food Service Manager II to oversee the Center Kitchen, ensuring meals meet Federal Nutrition Service Standards and Texas regulations.

You will supervise daily operations, manage inventory, and maintain equipment while upholding safety and sanitation standards, ensuring timely meal service. You will work with a dietician on menus, handle meal service data entry, and support the Center Director in their absence.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED; preferred experience in food handling and preparation and/or service delivery to the underprivileged or experience in HCCAA programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in accordance with regulations.
• Ensure proper and accurate portions of food items are served and document results daily.
• Monitor temperatures for safe food handling and document results daily.
• Ensure health and safety requirements are followed; keep work and storage areas neat and clean.
• Post menus signed by a dietician; note substitutions as needed.
• Maintain inventory of kitchen equipment and food products.
• Care for and clean utensils, pans and equipment; complete weekly documentation.
• Submit weekly grocery orders to Central Office or contracted supplier.
• Shop for groceries locally as needed.
• Oversee delivery, handling, and storage of products and supplies.
• Maintain storage and control of waste.
• Deliver Home Delivered Meals as needed.
• Assist with cleaning the Center as required.
• Manage day-to-day Center operations in absence of Center Director; data entry of meal services.
