Job summary

The Opportunity Alliance seeks a part-time Center Floater in Portland, ME to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms. You will help maintain a safe, nurturing learning environment and assist with activities, transitions, and supervision for young children and families.

Qualifications include a CDA or equivalent, or pursuing an ECE degree, plus 1 year related experience. Strong teamwork and cultural responsiveness are valued in a mission-driven program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CDA or equivalent preferred or pursuing within 2 years.
• 1 year center-based teaching or related experience preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse families and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide staff coverage in center-based classrooms as needed.
• Support classroom staff to maintain a safe, nurturing environment.
• Assist with transitions, activities, and supervision of children 0–5.
