Job summary

Little Hands Daycare in Portland, ME is seeking a reliable Floaters to join our licensed childcare team. This position supports classrooms as needed and helps maintain a warm, safe, and engaging early learning environment for children.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of childcare classroom experience; CDA or AA is highly preferred. Work Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm, with compensation of $16–$21 per hour, based on education and experience.

• At least one year of childcare classroom experience.
• CDA or AA degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Maintain safety and well-being of each child, respond to emotional needs; keep classroom organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated.
• Maintain a child assessment portfolio and conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences in November and May.
