Job summary

Opal Autism Centers is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our center-based team in Wilmington, NC. You will implement individualized treatment plans under supervision, collect progress data, and engage with children to promote learning and development while communicating regularly with families.

The role requires RBT certification (or completion of BACB‑recognized training), a high school diploma/GED, and a commitment to ethical behavior analysis.

Qualifications

• Active RBT certification or completion of a BACB‑recognized 40‑hour RBT training course
• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year experience with children or individuals with special needs
• Ability to obtain CPR certification before start date
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Experience with children with autism or developmental disabilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to ethical standards in behavior analysis
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a treatment team
• Desire for ongoing professional development and training
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
• Physical ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and sit/stand/squat
• On-site center-based work

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans under the direction of a BCBA
• Collect data on client behaviors and progress
• Engage clients in therapeutic activities to promote learning and development
• Communicate with families about their child’s progress and strategies
• Assist in developing educational materials and resources
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions
• Adhere to ethical guidelines and standards of behavior analysis
