Job summary

The Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a Center Aide Substitute to support classroom operations and center staff in Salem, Oregon. You will assist with direct child care, meal support, and classroom logistics while ensuring safety and program standards are met.

You may also help with transportation safety, clerical tasks, and custodial duties as needed, contributing to a positive, well-run center environment for children and families served by Head Start.

Qualifications

• Six months experience working with young children, cooking in a restaurant, or cleaning in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Assists center staff in carrying out duties per Head Start standards and regulations.
• Greet visitors, answer inquiries, issue badges, and maintain visitor logs.
• Enter data, complete reports, file and retrieve information, type memos and correspondence.
• Assist teacher with activities, record keeping, and safety for children.
• Help with bus, kitchen, and custodial duties as assigned.
• Support staff and parents through meetings and trainings as required.
