• Performs routine cleaning of cemetery facilities.
• Assists with placement and leveling of headstones and markers.
• Operates and maintains mowers, weed eaters, and blowers.
• Follows safety protocols for all tasks and equipment.
• May assist in setting up for ceremonies and events.
• Reports equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Performs other duties to support cemetery operations.

Job Description: Job Summary Performs entry-level manual labor tasks to support the operations and maintenance of a veterans' cemetery, ensuring a respectful and well-maintained environment for interments and visitors.

• Assists with grave digging and backfilling operations, including operating light excavation equipment under supervision.
• Prepares grave sites for interments, including setting up grave markers, lowering devices, and other necessary equipment.
• Participates in grounds maintenance activities, such as mowing, trimming, edging, raking leaves, and general landscaping.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of cemetery facilities, including restrooms, shelters, and administrative buildings.
• Assists with the placement and leveling of headstones and markers.
• Operates and maintains a variety of hand tools and power equipment, such as mowers, weed eaters, and blowers.
• Follows safety protocols and procedures for all tasks and equipment operation.
• May assist in setting up for ceremonies and special events.
• Reports equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support cemetery operations.

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for extended periods in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) unassisted.
• Basic understanding of and ability to safely operate hand tools and light power equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers).
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Respectful and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or manual labor preferred but not required.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; AND six months of general labor work experience. Subject to random urinalysis. Must have a valid driver's license.
