Job summary

SCI seeks an entry-level Groundskeeper at our Westlake Village location to maintain cemetery and funeral home grounds. You will perform general groundskeeping, assist in openings and closings for interments, and help ensure the property presents a respectful, well-kept appearance year-round.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to operate common lawn and maintenance equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months relevant experience in landscaping, general construction, warehouse, or physical labor.
• Funeral industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs.
• Operates lawn and grounds equipment including mowers, snow blowers, trimmers and blowers.
• Removes debris and trash from grounds.
• Assists in openings and closings for interments and related tasks.
• Assists in locating and laying out graves under supervision.
• May perform minor repairs to cemetery, building systems or equipment.
• May assist with cremation-related duties under supervision.
