Job summary

The City of Deerfield Beach is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to perform semi-skilled and skilled tasks across cemetery grounds, streets, utilities, athletic fields, and city facilities. Duties include equipment operation, routine maintenance, and assisting with events, under supervision.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; six months of related experience preferred. Excellent public customer service is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
• Six months of experience in general construction, building and grounds maintenance or mechanical trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks in assigned area.
• Operate power tools and light/heavy equipment as needed.
• Mow, edge lawns, plant and trim hedges; maintain flower and landscape beds.
• Lay out burial plots and communicate with Funeral Directors and families as required.
• Assist in preparing facilities for events and respond to public inquiries.
