Job summary

The City of Delray Beach is seeking a semi-skilled grounds worker to perform landscape maintenance, cleaning, and building upkeep in city parks and facilities. Under general supervision, you will operate mowers and related equipment, assist in set-up for activities, and help with safety inspections.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of heavy manual labor experience, plus a valid Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of landscape maintenance or turf care is required.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor under various weather conditions.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and keep records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings, grounds and parks; perform cleaning and minor repairs.
• Operate vehicles, mowers and related equipment; assist in set-up for activities.
• Perform litter control and routine maintenance of grounds.
• May spray insecticides and herbicides as part of grounds care.
• Prepare daily reports and help with safety inspections.
