Job summary

The Laboratory Intern works under the supervision of the Chief Chemist to support laboratory testing, analysis, and research activities related to cement manufacturing.

This position provides hands-on experience with the chemical and physical characterization of raw materials, clinker, and cement while exposing the intern to laboratory instrumentation, analytical methods, quality processes, and materials science within an industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific/engineering discipline.
• Previous laboratory exposure or coursework in chemistry or materials science is desirable.
• Interest in laboratory analysis and cement manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with analysis of raw materials, clinker, and cement chemistry.
• Collect, document, organize, and enter lab test data.
• Support chemical/physical characterization using XRF, XRD, and titration methods.
• Participate in testing to evaluate material composition and performance.
• Assist with pilot grinding tests and related material characterization.
• Help develop and evaluate lab testing methods and document results.
• Learn testing procedures, equipment, and safety practices from the Chief Chemist.
