Job summary

Cemex US is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to ensure products meet high quality standards. Work closely with the Quality Control Supervisor to conduct essential testing and inspections, maintaining Cemex’s reputation for quality and reliability.

You will perform ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI testing, monitor quality specs, and assist with mix design while adhering to safety policies in lab and plant environments.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in applied science or at least 2 years of cement plant experience.
• ASTM certification (or ability to obtain within the first year).
• 2–4 years of experience in a quality-related role in cement or heavy manufacturing.
• Strong numerical and testing skills; computer proficiency (including Excel and lab software); attention to detail; understanding of ASTM standards; ability to operate mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies (Cemex, OSHA, MSHA) and wear PPE.
• Perform ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI testing at cement and Ready Mix plants.
• Verify product quality against specs and report deviations.
• Assist with product mix design and understand kiln process impact.
• Maintain test records and prepare related reports.
• Perform lab housekeeping and basic equipment maintenance.
• Train new team members and complete audits, inspections, and reports.
• Respond to callouts, participate in plant outages, and support other duties.
