Job summary

Ash Grove Cement Company is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance technician at our Kansas plant. You will repair, install, and maintain plant machinery, compressors, pumps, pipes, and associated equipment; weld and fabricate as required; work from drawings and blueprints; and operate machine tools.

The role requires high school graduation or equivalent, willingness to learn, and strong mechanical/welding skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent is required.
• Willingness to learn; training will be provided.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, drawings, and sketches.
• Mechanical skills to service compressors, pumps, and related equipment.
• Ability to operate and set up alignment equipment.
• Experience with reading welding symbols and adjusting welding parameters.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
• Move and install process equipment and perform repairs.
• Inspect and repair air compressors, pumps, and piping.
• Operate machine tools and weld as needed.
• Read prints, blueprints, and work orders to plan repairs.
• Mentor other maintenance staff.
