Job summary

Alamo Cement Company in San Antonio, Texas seeks a Maintenance Repairman to sustain and optimize the operation of cement plant machinery. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, diagnosis of equipment issues, and timely repairs to minimize downtime.

You will inspect, operate, and test machinery, document work performed, and coordinate with outage teams for parts and scope. The position requires independent work, English proficiency, and ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum four years’ experience in heavy process equipment or six months cement plant operations.
• Welding and flame cutting competence preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in year-round conditions.
• Must read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions and advise repairs.
• Locate problems by observing equipment during operation and using measuring tools.
• Provide detailed written description of work performed.
• Provide scope of work and parts requirements for repairs during outages.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance for reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and implement solutions.
