Job summary

Alamo Cement Company in San Antonio, Texas, seeks a Maintenance Repairman to ensure reliable operation of cement machinery and equipment through preventative maintenance and skilled repair work.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent, 4+ years of experience with heavy process equipment (or 6 months cement plant operations), and the ability to work overtime. We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits including 401k, and an Equal Opportunity Employer environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical/Trade school degree or certificate preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in heavy process equipment, or a minimum of 6 months cement plant operations.
• Ability to remove and install guards and other equipment.
• Ability to align couplings, motors and gearboxes.
• Ability to maintain and replace bearings.
• Must be able to weld and flame cut.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and provide repair recommendations.
• Locate source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision instruments.
• Provide detailed written description of work performed.
• Provide scope of work, parts, and equipment requirements for repairs during mill and kiln outages.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure machines run efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions.
