Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking a Construction Engineering and Inspection Intern for a 12-week summer program. The CEI Intern will assist on roads, bridges and utilities, applying academic knowledge to real-world projects under supervision of a senior engineer.

This on-site internship emphasizes project management support, quality assurance and field inspections, with mentorship from ICE professionals and opportunities to develop practical technical skills in

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; enrolled in an accredited college degree program in Civil Engineering or related discipline (Junior or Senior preferred).
• Prior internship experience is preferred but not required.
• Current driver’s license with a safe 3-year driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring, testing and conformance of client/contractor work on various projects to ensure plans, specifications, materials, traffic & erosion control devices, quality assurance and safety standards are met.
• Perform engineering inspection activities such as construction observation, conducting field tests for concrete, asphalt, & earthworks under supervision of a senior engineer.
• Ensure all materials, procedures and safety rules comply with the latest DOT standards.
• Record daily construction inspection notes for CEI document management.
• Assist engineers with development of spreadsheet tools.
• Copy and scan project related drawings.
• Other duties assigned by supervisor.
