Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) invites motivated students to join our CEI Intern program for a 12-week summer session. You will assist with infrastructure projects involving roads, bridges, and utilities, gaining practical field inspection and project-management experience under veteran engineers.

Applicants should be enrolled in Civil Engineering or a related program, have a valid driver’s license, and be prepared for a hands-on team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required or equivalent.
• Enrolled in accredited civil engineering or related degree program (junior/senior preferred).
• Good oral and written communication skills expected.
• Organizational and planning abilities required.
• Demonstrated research skills and resourcefulness.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring, testing and conformance of client/contractor work to ensure compliance with plans, specs, materials, traffic and erosion control devices.
• Perform construction observation and field tests under supervision of a senior engineer.
• Ensure materials, procedures and safety rules meet latest DOT standards.
• Record daily CEI inspection notes for project documentation.
• Assist engineers with development of spreadsheet tools.
• Copy and scan project drawings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
