Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a full-time night shift (12 hours) with a 36-hour workweek, from 6:30 pm to 7:00 am. The role supports the Clinical Decision Unit and may progress along the UAP ladder (PCA, PCT, NT) depending on experience.

Preferred candidates include EMT, Paramedic, or prior patient care experience (PCA, CNA, or nursing student).

Qualifications

• Experience: None required; if no experience, can start as PCA with Mercy training program (175 hours) within orientation, completed within 90 days.
• Preferred Experience: EMT, Paramedic, or previous patient care experience (PCA, CNA, or active nursing student).
• Required Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPCT or enrolled in a healthcare career program; must be 18+ and participate in Mercy UAP training or be a current Mercy coworker.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within one month of hire; complete PCT competencies within 3 months of hire.
