Standard Textile in Hebron, KY is seeking a skilled Yard Jockey with a valid CDL to safely move trailers and containers on company property. Responsibilities include inspections, coordinating with dock staff, and ensuring secure trailer placement.

The ideal candidate has a CDL A (or Class A/B) with a clean driving record, 1+ year yard experience, and strong attention to detail. Physical tasks and weather flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A driver's license with certs to pull 53ft trailers and current DOT.
• Valid CDL Class A/B license with a clean driving record.
• Previous yard jockey or similar role preferred.
• Strong understanding of yard and trailer operations.
• Safely operate yard trucks and move trailers in tight spaces.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures.
• Medical Card
• DOT drug test
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating a yard truck
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Good communication skills

Responsibilities

• Safely move trailers and containers around the yard and loading docks, ensuring they are properly positioned for loading and unloading.
• Perform daily inspections of yard tractors and trailers to ensure they are in safe and operational condition.
• Coordinate with warehouse and dock personnel to manage trailer locations and availability.
• Secure trailers by setting the parking brakes, chocking wheels, and ensuring proper placement.
• Maintain a clean and organized yard, ensuring trailers and equipment are stored properly and safely.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or damage to the supervisor immediately.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks as needed, such as checking fluid levels and ensuring equipment cleanliness.
• Follow all company safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Participate in distribution responsibilities as assigned when yard responsibilities have been completed.
• Operate a forklift, loading and unloading trucks, and placing products on pallets as needed.
• Contribute to team productivity goals while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
