Job summary

GFL Industries in Michigan is hiring a commercial truck driver to operate frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes, collecting solid waste and transporting it to post-collection facilities.

You will perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, maintain logs, and interact with customers along the route. A valid CDL and 1+ year driving experience are required, with adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum of one year commercial truck driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along designated routes to collect solid waste and transport to post-collection facilities.
• Open container enclosures or gates to access cans and position cans for dumping.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and submit vehicle condition reports.
• Interact courteously with customers and the public, address questions or requests, and notify supervisor of issues.
• Maintain and submit logs, daily route productivity sheets, and post-trip inspection reports as required.
• Follow all safety standards and company policies while operating the vehicle.
• Operate GPS/map navigation to locate service addresses and back up using mirrors.
