Job summary

WM (Waste Management) in Michigan seeks CDL drivers to operate heavy-duty trucks performing residential, commercial, and roll-off collection. You will back up safely, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and maintain clean dumps at customer sites while adhering to safety and regulatory rules.

This role requires a CDL with air-brake endorsement (Class A or B), English proficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, congested environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports.
• Pre-employment screening including drug test and physical required.
• Valid CDL with air-brake endorsement (Class A or Class B) required.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with Waste Management safety rules and DOT regulations.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and documents checks.
• Reports unsafe situations, incidents, or service-related issues to Operations Manager/Dispatch.
• Attends training programs and meetings as required by WM or Route Manager.
• Collaborates with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and best practices.
• Notifies Operations Manager/Dispatch of service interruptions or safety hazards.
• Completely dumps receptacles and ensures customer location is clean after service.
• Completes end-of-day documentation and follows directed route assignments.
