Job summary

The State of Vermont's Agency of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Operations Technician II to perform highway maintenance tasks such as repairing guardrails, ditching, patching roads, cutting trees and litter control. In winter, duties include plowing and salting with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: One year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor, INCLUDING either one season of operating a snowplow with wings OR six months of operating medium or heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair guardrails, patch roads, cut trees/brush, pick litter, ditch, and perform general maintenance tasks.
• Assist with winter operations including plowing and salting; overtime may be required.
