Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver Trainee in the United States to train for a CDL and transition into a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off lines. The program includes classroom study, on-road training, and the loan of a truck to prepare for the CDL exam.

Upon successful licensure, you will complete twelve months of service and assume duties as a Driver within one of our business lines, while continuing to uphold safety and customer service standards.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, including classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and resources to take the CDL examination.
• Complete twelve full months of employment with Republic Services after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues.
• Learn to operate a heavy or commercial truck on designated routes and service each customer per route sheet.
• Learn to load and unload waste, dispose at designated facilities, and monitor equipment performance.
• After CDL, perform driver duties in Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off lines.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
