Job summary

A Driver Trainee at Republic Services will be trained to obtain a CDL and then transition to a Driver role within our waste services operations, including Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off. The program provides classroom, on-road training, and hands-on experience with a company truck to prepare for the CDL examination.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Complete CDL training program.
• Work 12 months after CDL.
• Learn pre- and post-operation inspections.
• Learn to operate heavy trucks along routes to disposal sites.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls to load refuse.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material.
• Ensure vehicle readiness and clean packer blade.
• Follow safety policies.
• After CDL, perform Driver duties in a line.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
