Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver Trainee in Wisconsin to be trained for a commercial driver’s license (CDL). The program includes classroom study, on-road training, and access to a truck for the CDL exam.

After obtaining a CDL, the trainee will transition into a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off lines of business. The program requires completion of twelve months of employment after CDL issuance.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete CDL training program and related classroom/road training.
• Complete 12 months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections.
• Safely operate heavy/ commercial trucks on assigned routes.
• Read route sheets, service customers, and follow dispatcher instructions.
• Identify unsafe containers and tag them per procedures.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and truck condition.
• Maintain safety policies and procedures at all times.
• After CDL, perform responsibilities of a Driver in one of the company lines of business.
