Job summary

Republic Services is hiring a Driver Trainee who will undergo a CDL training program designed to prepare them for a future Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll-Off services. The program includes classroom study, on-road coaching, and access to a loaned truck, with a guaranteed twelve-month employment period after CDL attainment.

Qualifications

No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

Successfully complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, including classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and access to a loaned truck.
Complete twelve (12) months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
Perform complete pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections.
Report safety issues on standard reports.
Safely operate a heavy or commercial truck on a designated route and service each customer as assigned.
Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of material.
Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag accordingly.
Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
Maintain vehicle readiness and cleanliness to minimize downtime.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
After CDL, perform all Driver duties in one of the company lines of business.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
