Job summary

Republic Services is offering a Driver Trainee program designed to train applicants to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL). The program includes classroom study, on-route training, and resources to take the CDL examination.

Upon successful CDL completion, the trainee moves into a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines. The role emphasizes safety, vehicle inspections, and learning to operate heavy trucks on designated routes, with opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• CDL training program required; no prohibitions to CDL acquisition.

Responsibilities

• Complete CDL training program including classroom, on-route training and resources to pass the CDL examination.
• After CDL is obtained, perform Driver duties in Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines of business.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections and report safety issues.
• Safely operate heavy/ commercial trucks along designated routes and service customers as assigned.
• Follow safety policies and load/dispose waste according to policy; monitor deterioration of containers.
• After CDL, assume Driver responsibilities across the company’s lines of business.
