Job summary

Republic Services is hiring a Driver Trainee in the United States who will undergo a structured CDL training program designed to earn a commercial driver’s license and transition into a Driver role across our service lines. The program includes classroom study, on-route training, and access to a training truck.

Upon CDL completion, the trainee will join one of our lines of business and continue developing driving skills, route knowledge, and safety practices while fulfilling hours of employment

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Complete CDL training program including classroom study, on-route training, and driving experience.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle.
• Learn to safely operate a heavy or commercial truck along a designated route and service customers.
• Learn to identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers per procedures.
• After obtaining a CDL, perform all responsibilities of a Driver in one of the Company’s lines of business.
