Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Driver Trainee to be trained to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Upon completion, you will transition to a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines of business.

You will complete a structured CDL training program, including classroom, on-route, and hands-on driving with resources to pass the CDL exam. The role starts Mon–Fri, 4–5am, with occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers' license.

Responsibilities

• Complete CDL training program and obtain a CDL.
• Complete twelve (12) months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections per policy.
• Learn to operate a heavy/ commercial truck on routes and service customers.
• Learn to operate controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of material.
• After CDL, perform all Driver responsibilities in one of the company lines of business.
